Iran Finally Attack US Soldiers Killing 20

The Iranian government “caught America off guard” with ballistic missile attacks at military bases in Iraq that house US troops — and Iranian state media are claiming to have killed 30 American service members, according to the Tehran bureau chief for NBC News. Iran fired “more than a dozen” ballistic missiles Tuesday against two airbases in Iraq where US and coalition forces are based, the Pentagon said. “At approximately 5.30 pm (2230 GMT) on January 7, Iran launched more than a dozen ballistic missiles against US military and coalition forces in Iraq,” Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement. “It is clear that these missiles were launched from Iran and targeted at least two Iraqi military bases hosting US military and coalition personnel at Al-Assad and Irbil.”

Court orders Naira Marley’s arrest over car theft

A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Monday ordered the arrest and arraignment of Adeyemi Fashola aka Naira Marley, over alleged car theft. . . According to the News Agency of Nigeria, The chief magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, ordered that the Investigating Police Officer, Sgt. Sunday Idoko, must present Naira Marley in court on December 21, when the case would be listed for further hearing. . . However, two of the musician’s brothers and his cousins appeared in court over alleged theft of a car and a cell phone. . . Police arraign Ebonyi lovers for stealing N1.5m

The Ebonyi State Police Command has arraigned two lovers cohabiting together, Uchenna Elom, 32, and Chinaza Ituma, 24, for alleged stealing and conspiracy. They were arraigned on Tuesday before an Abakaliki Magistrates’ Court on two counts of conspiracy and stealing. Elom and Ituma hail from Ovudulagu, Umuogudu Akpu-Ngbo community in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state. The police prosecutor, Inspector Mbam Chinedu, told the court that the accused persons committed the offences at the United Bank for Africa Plc’s branch in Abakaliki on September 28 and 30, 2019.  The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria on Wednesday opened a drive to raise $14 billion to fight the global epidemics but face an uphill battle in the face of donor fatigue. Host President Emmanuel Macron is to chair the final day of the two-day meeting in the French city of Lyon on Thursday and meet African heads of state. The fund has asked for $14 billion, an amount it says would help save 16 million lives, avert “234 million infections” and place the world back on track to meet the UN objective of ending the epidemics of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria within 10 years. “I count on every one of you to bring together the financing necessary to give the Global Fund the means necessary to support the worst affected countries,” said French Health Minister Agnes Buzyn as the meeting opened. “We are here to send a strong signal. Banker Sentenced To One-Year-Jail Term For Fraud In Osogbo

A 51 year-old female banker, Yetunde Iyabo Adewunmi, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment for conspiracy, aiding and abating fraud. A statement signed by the Head, Media & Publicity of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Wilson Uwujaren, Adewunmi confirmed that the sentence was given on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. She was convicted of one-count instituted against her by the EFCC, Ibadan zonal office, before Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court 2, sitting in Osogbo, Osun State. Investigation conducted by officials of the Commission had revealed that the Adewunmi used her position as a staffer of a new generation bank in Ile-Ife, Osun State to forge two identity cards for one Abayomi Samuel Onalaja, an internet fraudster, to enable him cash two Western Union transactions received from his foreign victims. Lagos Govt Commences Investigation Into Reported Disease Outbreak In Queens College

The Lagos State government says it has commenced an investigation into the purported outbreak of an air-borne flu in Queens College and other schools in the state. In a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs of the state, Tunbosun Ogunbanwo, the Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, was said to have disclosed this on Tuesday. According to Abayomi, the investigative team comprises officials of State Epidemiology team, Primary Health Care Services and Environmental Health Department of Lagos Mainland Local Government. Google Station, Google’s free WiFi is offline in Lagos

In the first week of September 2019, BaloTechNG discovered that Google Station had stopped functioning in the University of Lagos (Unilag). Reports say this happened as far back as July. Further investigations show that apart from Unilag, two other primary Google Station locations in Lagos — Ikeja City Mall (ICM) and the Computer Village — are offline. Google Station, Google’s free Wi-Fi initiative that delivers free Internet access in select locations, launched last year in Nigeria, with Lagos and Abuja its primary locations. More than a year later, Lagos is seemingly offline on the programme. In all locations where Google Station is offline, other free Wi-Fi services are working. Some of them include Express Wi-Fi by Facebook and SANWO FREE WIFI deployed by present Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu during his campaign in December.
